Jordan Mailata's pre-game meal could feed a family of 4
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles' 6-foot-8, 365-pound star left tackle, Jordan Mailata, is going viral for how much he eats before a big game.

Mailata actually broke down his diet before games during an appearance on The Dave Chang Show back in February and it's resurfaced... because it's still so shocking.

What he eats the night before a game and breakfast the morning of could feed a family of four.

Here's the breakdown of Mailata's pre-game and gameday meal plan.

Night Before Game:

  • An entire box of bow-tie pasta with shrimp, rosé sauce, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, salt/pepper, and chili flakes.
  • 20 oz. Steak
  • 3 pieces of garlic bread
  • Sprite

Gameday Breakfast:

• 8 egg omelet with spinach, mushrooms, cheese, sometimes avocado.
• 4-8 pancakes (depending on the size)
• Orange Juice

That's... a lot, but it makes sense for a guy that is Mailata's size and has a certain weight to uphold, or he gets fined.

Mailata revealed that there are times that he wishes he could eat something else, especially during away games.

"Sometimes when I see everyone else eating like getting takeout from other restaurants when we go to other cities, I'm like 'Oh, that's cool,'" he said. "But when we play a home game at the facility, our chefs do a great job. They've got us dialed in. I can't wait to eat. Even though it becomes monotonous."

The one time that Mailata did stray away from his routine diet, he ate some ramen.

And he'll never do it again.

"Last time I had a ramen bowl, I gave up a sack the next day," he said. "I never broke it [again]... Don't deviate from what you know. "
